Reasons For Not Visiting New Born Babies During The Coronavirus Pandemic

They hope that the public will remain disciplined in maintaining distance, especially for those susceptible to the COVID-19 virus, such as newborns.
In response to this, many other doctors agreed on it. According to them, there are several reasons why visiting babies during the coronavirus pandemic is not recommended, namely:
- Babies Are At Risk Of Contracting The Corona Virus
Infants, children, and the elderly are the groups most vulnerable to contracting the coronavirus. The reason is these three groups do not have a strong enough immune system like young adults. Therefore visiting newborns only puts them at higher risk of contracting the virus.
Even though outsiders used protections such as a mask or face shield, the risk of transmitting the coronavirus remains high. It could be from touch or viruses that may still survive in the air.
- Babies Are At Risk Of Contracting Other Diseases
Apart from the coronavirus, babies are also susceptible to bacteria and other diseases, causing germs that you may bring from outside your home.
According to the doctors, the viruses that most often affect newborns are influenza, herpes, and respiratory infections.
When you see a baby, you will feel anxious and want to hold or even kiss him. Both of these can transmit dangerous viruses such as herpes to the baby. Especially if visitors often touch and kiss newborns.
