UP PCS J Syllabus Mains 2023
According to the Paper Pattern of the UP Judiciary Exam, the Mains question paper consists of five papers: three papers on Law, one paper on general knowledge, and the other on language.
Each paper is conducted for 200 marks, and all the questions are descriptive.
The time duration of each paper is 3 hours.

UP Judiciary Syllabus 2023 of Paper 2: (English Language)
According to the civil judge exam syllabus, Paper II of the Mains exam shall comprise four questions of 100 marks as specified below:
- Essay – 50 marks
- English Précis writing – 30 marks
- Translation of passage from Hindi to English – 20 marks
UP Judiciary Syllabus 2023 of Paper 3: (Hindi Language)
This paper will be of 100 marks. It shall comprise three questions as specified below:
- Essay – 50 marks
- English Précis writing – 30 marks
- Translation of Passage from English to Hindi – 20 marks
UP Judiciary Syllabus 2023 of Paper 4: Law-I (Substantive Law)
The paper on Substantive Law will be of 200 marks, and there shall be questions of 50 marks about Constitutional Law alone.

UP Judiciary Syllabus 2023 of Paper 5: Law-II (Procedure and Evidence)
The question in this paper will relate mainly to practical matters such as the framing of charges and issues, the methods of dealing with the evidence of witnesses, the writing of judgment and the conduct of cases generally but will not be restricted to them.
The fourth paper of law, that is, Procedure and Evidence, relates mainly to practical matters listed below:

UP Judiciary Syllabus 2023 of Paper 6: Law-III (Penal, Revenue, and Local Laws)
Paper 6 is compulsory. Questions about Penal Law will be of 50 marks, whereas that about Revenue and Local Laws will be 150 marks.

UP PCS J Syllabus Interview 2023
The total mark allotted by UP Public Service Commission for the UP PCS J interview is 100 marks. The candidates will have a choice to answer General Knowledge and Law papers in Hindi or English.
